Manali is a small town with a resident population of 8,096 people, as per the 2011 census. It serves as a crucial tourist destination and a gateway to popular spots like Solang Valley, Brighu Lake, and Hamta Pass. Additionally, Rohtang Pass is a key route for trekkers and safaris heading to Leh and Lahoul Spiti Valleys. Annually, Manali attracts nearly 30 lakh tourists, supported by around 700 hotels and lodging facilities. The town also has a significant migrant labor population of approximately 10,000 people, who work in various hotels and lodges to cater to the tourism industry.
