Important Information
Manali is a small town with a resident population of 8,096 people (as per the 2011 census). It is a significant tourist destination and serves as a gateway to popular spots such as Solang Valley, Brightu Lake, and Hamta Pass. Additionally, Rohtang Pass is a crucial route for trekkers and safaris heading to Leh and Lahoul Spiti Valleys. Every year, Manali attracts nearly 30 lakh tourists, supported by approximately 700 hotels and lodging facilities. The town also has a substantial migrant labor population of around 10,000 people, who work in various hotels and lodges to support the tourism industry.
